World's Most Beautiful Drive
by Lori Reed
Grand View Drive in Peoria, Illinois is a 2.5 mile meandering pleasure driveway constructed in 1903. The "world's most beautiful drive," as President Theodore Roosevelt referred to it in a visit to Peoria in 1910, offers numerous panoramic views of the Illinois River Valley and the chance to see many historic and remarkable homes lining it. This artwork is comprised of multiple digital alterations of a Grand View Drive photo all cut into strips and pieced together. Additions of handmade paper and vintage postage stamps.
